A 25-year-old woman has admitted to killing her 27-year-old husband, a resident of Nsangi Sub-county, Wakiso District in Uganda, after he returned home with a used condom and showed it to her to prove that she was worthless to him. In a police statement, the suspect said her husband had gone beyond what she could take.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Patrick Onyango said they are holding the woman on murder charges but they will first take her to the hospital for a medical examination to establish her mental status before she is taken to court.

“In the admission, she told us the weapon she used to slit the throat of her husband, and where she threw it after use. We have recovered the weapon in the exact place,” Mr Onyango said yesterday.

It is alleged that the deceased, who recently got some money and bought a new car, started hanging out with other women.
The deceased allegedly wanted his wife to know that he has other women he is seeing.

Mr Onyango said the suspect told them that when her husband brought home a condom he had used with another woman, she couldn’t get over it but buried it in her heart until deep in the night.

“She told us at night she picked a knife when her husband was asleep and slit his throat before she briefly fled the home,” he said.

Mr Onyango advised men to refrain from acts that can cause disharmony in homes.
