Unidentified woman, in her twenties, has done the unthinkable in Juba. The woman who stays in Buaba suburb of Juba tried to buried her baby because she couldn’t afford to feed the baby.
Neighbours called the police after she dug up a shallow grave to bury the baby. she alleged that the situation in Juba is getting hard and she is not able to feed her baby under the economic hardship in the country, since the only breadwinner of the family, a soldier in SPLA ranks was killed in 2015 in a frontline.
“The Situation is very bad now for me and my only child, the father was killed in 2015 fighting for this country….now we are left to starve to death and I can’t stand it anymore,” she said when questioned by the police at the scene.

Citizens in Juba have decried the economic hardship in the country where the inflation rate was recorded at 154.60 percent in July of 2017. Inflation Rate in the country averaged 85.81 percent from 2008 until 2017, reaching an all-time high of 835.70 percent in October of 2016 and a record low of -14 percent in November of 2013.
