A 33-year-old woman has committed suicide while under military custody in Lakes State.

According to sources in Aluakluak, Yirol West County, Nyanon Marial Aguek committed suicide by hanging this morning after the army detained her over her son’s case.

It’s believed that she took her life due to long-standing detention in dangerous military custody in remotes part of Yirol West County, Lakes State.

According to a close relative to the late Nyanon was arrested on the directives of Yirol West County Commissioner Andrew Acheng Anhiem because her son, who is hiding is allegedly a wanted criminal.

The family members are calling for an independent investigation into the matter.
