A United Nations peacekeeper was shot dead at the mission’s base in  Juba by his colleague, UNMISS spokeswoman said.

Medics at the base’s clinic declared the Rwandan national dead of gunshot wounds on Monday morning, the UN mission’s acting spokeswoman, Shantal Persaud, said on phone. A Rwandan peacekeeper is being questioned, she said.

The motive of the shooting is unknown and still under investigation according to sources at UNMISS but rumors alleged that the UN peacekeepers had an argument over a woman which led to a fight and eventual shooting.

This is not the first time a Rwandan peacekeepers are involved in shooting each other, in August this year in Central Africa Republic, a Rwandan peacekeeper shoot dead eight of his colleagues before shooting himself dead over unclear circumstances.
