The Minister of Transport has asked Parliament to allocate more money for renovation work at Juba airport, describing the state of the international airport a shame to the nation.
John Luk Jok was speaking during a debate in Parliament on the draft national budget. Travelers currently use a congested makeshift terminal for departures and arrival as works continue.
The Minister says it has taken the government nine years to try to get the airport into respectable shape for travellers.
In June the company carrying out the renovations, ‘Crown Construction’ said it needed half a million US dollars to complete work.
