The rebel group of thousands of soldiers has joined the national army after abandoning their base in Aweil.
“More than three thousands rebels defected to the government and were received by the lion division,” said a source in SPLA’s Lion Division in Aweil.

The leader of the group, Malong Thiik, said they defected to the government because of lack of clear visions and directions in the rebel movement, which turned the movement into tribalistic and lack of organisation.
