The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Aweil State has netted several thieves who were involved in the stealing of SSP 224, 500 that was stolen from a trader’s shop in Aweil town. The police commissioner, Maj. Gen. Eliei Kosta Faustoria said that the CID recovered SSP 118, 145 from the criminals.
The police received the tip on the heist and mounted a hunt all over the State and with information from the community they managed to succeed. Kosta said that two women were also involved in the robbery. He said that nine cows were bought from the amount stolen.
The Commissioner described the operation by the CID as an achievement for the police department and urged citizens in the State to keep their money in banks to avoid such grave loses.
