The SPLA has handed over the corpse of Christopher Allen, a US freelance journalist, to the American Embassy in Juba.
The SPLA Medical Corps said that the Allen died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Allen was killed during fighting in Kaya on Saturday morning. SPLA said his corpse was recovered from the battlefield and has no identity papers with it.

Colonel Santo Domic, SPLA Deputy Spokesman and Michael Makuei, the Minister of Information and government spokesman say that Allen was a rebel and not a journalist.
