South Sudanese migrants praised as “heroes” after rescuing 4 children from fire in Libya

Two South Sudanese migrants have been praised as “heroes” after rescuing four children who were trapped for hours in a burning building in a southern Libyan city, local media in the North African country reported Wednesday.

The two unnamed South Sudanese migrants climbed up an apartment building in Sabha, in southern Libya to save the four children trapped inside their third-floor flat due to a fire.

Several residents have praised the effort with many calling for the protection of migrant communities fleeing conflict from Sub-Sahara countries.
