South Sudanese businesswoman and entrepreneur, Ms. Atong Amos Agook has called on the Government of South Sudan to support and promote young entrepreneurs and businessmen in the country.

Speaking in an interview, Ms. Atong Amos said that South Sudan has talented youth with innovative ideas and who are keen to venture into business but do not have the necessary capital to do so. “Our country South Sudan has some of the best brains and active youth who are ready to employ themselves but they lack the necessary support to do so. It is for this reason that as a young entrepreneur and business woman asking the government of South Sudan to provide support such as financial support and conducive business environment to do business and realize their full potential”, she said.

She added one of the way for government to support young entrepreneur is to encourage commercial banks and other financial institutions to provide loan to these young entrepreneurs. “If you go to the bank today as young entrepreneurs and ask for loan, you will not be given due to the fact many of these young people do not have collateral such as land or salary to use to secure the loan facility to finance their business ideas”.

She also said that apart from the financial support to start the government of south Sudan can also provide training and mentorship for young entrepreneurs and business men and women. Ms. Atong Amos said through her company Triple A Group has employed youth who have contributed positively to the growth of the company.
