Chol Manut, a renowned young South Sudanese singer died in Khartoum on Monday. He was from Abyei and sang traditional Sudanese songs.

The cause of his death remains unclear but according to reports, he was suffering from tuberculosis.

Various citizens in Sudan and South Sudan expressed their sadness for the loss.

Manut became a famous singer though Blue Nile TV before the people of South Sudan decided to separate from Sudan in July 2011.
