Exiled rebel leader, Riek Machar has appointed former musician turn rebel brother, the governor of Liech State. In a letter dated 27 July Riek appoints Brigadier General Tor Tungwar Kueigong, a brother to a former musician, Lam Tungwar Kueigong.
Machar announced the appointments in a letter on Thursday, July 27th.
“Pursuant to the resolution of the SPLM-IO Political Bureau September 23, 2016, I Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, Chairman and Commander-In-Chief, SPLM/SPLA (IO) do hereby appoint Brigadier General Tor Tungwar Kueigong the governor of Liech State with effect from with 27 July 2017.
Lam Tungwar who is currently holding a ministerial position in the government was not available for comments.
