A group of musicians under Anataban have recorded a song to raise awareness about the ongoing oil pollution in oil fields and surrounding areas in South Sudan.
The song tittled ‘Black Tide’ features graphic scenes showing the disadvantages of oil pollution in South Sudan’s oil drilling sites.
Accrording to information by independent bodies, the oil spillage and pollution has greatly affected children, women and livestocks in oil producing states.
“Childrens are born without limbs, others with three legs while others extremely deformed” Anataban activist said.
Anataban is an artist collective based in Juba, South Sudan. The group uses street theater, graffiti, murals, sculpture and poetry to foster public discussion about the issues of social injustice and government accountability, and transparency.
