The mysterious Kenyan woman who sparked national debate this week in South Sudan after the Kenyan media, broke the news of her appointment has turned out to be a fraudster and is wanted by the Government.
Dr Renish Achieng a Kenyan national from Kisumu was reported to have been appointed as Special Envoy to Germany on 8th December by the government of South Sudan. So who is she?
According to the registration document at Directorate of Nationality Passport and Immigration.
Dr Renish Achieng Omullo is married to a South Sudanese husband named Absalom Aloo from Jubek state.
She was issued both regular and Diplomatic passport number D0000 6502 and obtained her nationality certificate and passports on 30th July 2016. Her witness to the document is Santino Mawieu Deng Mawieu from Jubek State.
However, Immigration department has issued a warrant of arrest and marked her as “most wanted” for illegally obtaining national documents. The department discovered the forgery after what they called “irregularities” in her registration forms.
On her appointment, sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said they have no knowledge of any appointed Special Envoy recently to Germany.
The state broadcaster, SSBC has no record of such decree issued by the president.
