South Sudan’s Minister of General Education and Instruction Deng Deng Hoc Yai has confirmed a new alliance with Egypt.

The partnership with Egypt in education is meant to provide South Sudan’s education sector with Arabic and Islamic curriculum.

Minister Yai recently met Egypt’s Education Minister Tarek Shawki to discuss the importance of cooperating with Egypt, and to work with the Egyptian education sector in completing a new educational system that will be applied on students of different ages and educational levels in South Sudan.

Reports emanating from South Sudan suggest that Yai on behalf of his country also requested that Egypt train South Sudanese teachers and also print school books for South Sudan.

On his part, Shawki assured the Sudanese that they will come on board and assist them and also affirming the strong relations between the two African states.
