An inspection exercise to clamp down on illegal and unlicensed pharmacies has been launched in Juba.
Inspection teams from the Jubek State Ministry of Health and Juba City Council are visiting clinics and drug shops to verify operation licenses.
The teams will also screen qualifications and work permits of employees, impound all expired medicines and assess the waste disposal management of the health facilities.
Two pharmacies namely, Al-Amin hospital in Nimra Talata and Night Bor Care in Kator were closed this morning for operating without licenses.
The Mayor of Juba City Council Stephen Wani Michael is calling for cooperation with inspection teams.
