A 44-year-old State Minister is hoping to realize his much-postponed dream and is among the thousands of candidates sitting for the South Sudan Secondary School Certificate (SSSCE) exams.

Abraham Majak Makur who is the Minister of Road and Infrastructure in Eastern Lakes State on Monday, January 14, sat for his first paper alongside hundreds of other students Paanker Secondary School in Eastern Lake State.

Speaking to HIJ, a close relative to the minister confided that the ministered dropped out of school in the 1980s. According to the close relative in the state, Abraham has held various government positions at the state’s level.
“Abraham has been very active in former lakes state government serving in various offices from being the Director for planning and budgeting at the ministry of local government and law enforcement to being the director for planning and budgeting unit at the local government,” the close relative reveals.

HIJ has learned from various sources that Abraham who had no academic qualification has been holding various government positions at Eastern Lakes State.
