Two South Sudanese have been drafted into NBA.

The late Manute Bol’s son Bol Bol and Marial Shayok were drafted on Thursday during NBA draft.

The Denver Nuggets selected Bol in the second round with the No. 44 overall pick on Thursday night, via a trade with the Miami Heat. The 19-year-old was then welcomed to the stage with a loud cheer from those fans still left at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, a gesture that surprised even him.

Marial came through at 54th when Philadelphia 76ers picked him in the 2019 NBA Draft.
