A man who was caught selling ash on Wednesday to customers as maize flour in Rumbek market has been sentenced to nine months in prison by the town court.
“The man was caught in the market by the CID personnel selling ash in cartoon which contain 12 packet each. The packets were half filled with ash mixed with maize flour,” said Rumbek town court judge, Dhalbeny Makuer.
With the economic hardships in the country, many criminals have started selling bogus products disguised as consumable products. There are reported cases where criminals mix oil with urine, colored water sold as diesel to unsuspecting customers.
