President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to beat his rival Raila Odinga and six other candidates in Kenya’s general elections.

According to provisional results released by Kenya’s electoral commission after 93% of the votes have been counted, Uhuru has won nearly 54% with Raila trailing with 44%. However, Raila has rejected the results saying that they are fake and the voting machines have been hacked.

President Uhuru and Raila have a long history of dynastic rivalry. Raila’s father Jaramogi, was the first person to become Vice President of Kenya under Uhuru’s father Jomo before the old men fell out in 1966.

Raila a champion of Kenya’s democracy who fought Moi’s one party rule has now lost three previous presidential elections.
