The Intergovernmental Authority on Development will release Machar from house arrest in March 2020, a source close to Machar said.
Machar who is in Khartoum under house arrest has been pleading for his free movement over the past few months.
According to Government’s journalist, Garang John the terms and conditions of his house arrest restrict him from addressing rallies or give media interviews as well as travel ban outside Khartoum.
” IGAD has applied Kampala formula on SPLM I.O Chief. Dr. Riek Machar’s house arrest has also been extended for 100 days,” he added.
