The Minister of Information Michael Makuei told a press conference this evening that the government is not aware of efforts to release Riek.
Various media houses quoting rebel officials have been reporting that IGAD and various countries are working on ending Riek Machar’s exile.
Makuei said that as far as the government is concerned, Riek is in South Africa.
The government has been against return of Riek saying that he is a destabilising factor and must renounce violence first.
