The Ministry of Labour, Public Service and Human Resource Development has issued a notice hiking work permit fees for foreigners working in South Sudan again.
The new notice said effective from the 1st of November foreign workers will pay:
(a) Business class/professionals – $10,000 USD
(b) Blue Collar workers – $2,000 USD
(c) Casual workers – $1,000 USD
The first attempt on the 2nd of March this year to raise the rates by the same amount was abandoned after outcry from international NGOs and western countries.
