No more clubbing in Juba as police orders closure of all nightclubs
The Minister of Interior Michael Chiengjiek and IGP Majak Akec have ordered all nightclubs in Juba to be closed. The move comes after a person was killed in Munuki at about 8pm on Sunday.
A fight among a gang of youth labelled “niggers” who were armed with machetes broke out in Munuki. The police responded and arrested 14 members of the gang and found one person dead after being hacked with machetes.
During the arrest some of the gang members attacked the police and tried to disarm the police. The police as a result opened fire and killed one gang member.
The police said nightclubs must obtain special permits to operate at night as of today.
