General Anthony Bol Madut, the former governor of Warrap and Tonj State, has died after a long illness.

Bol was born in 1942, in Tonj North. He started school in the early sixties in Athieng-puol area before moving to Warrap town, where he later left school and moved to Wau, then joined the Anyanya.
