Sources familiar with the case and trial of James Gatdet Dak, former spokesman of Riek Machar said he has been sentenced to death by hanging for treason.

James Gatdet was extradited from Kenya and has been held in Blue House by National Security since 2016.

According to sources at the secretive trial, Gatdet was also sentenced to 20 years in jail for other charges.

He has 15 days to appeal the verdict at the High Court.
