A former minister was on Monday jailed for 9 years by Gudele court after he was found guilty of raping a 9-year-old girl.
The accused, identified as the chairperson of peace and healing centre in Pangak State and a former minister in the state, was found guilty after lengthy deliberation.
In his mitigation, the accused pleaded with the court to be lenient on him, noting that he was remorseful and would never be involved in such an indecent act again.
The mother of the9-year-old says she’s happy with the justice after she struggled to reach this stage after long threat from the perpetrator.
She’s been beaten 10times by hired police belongs to perpetrator to withdraw from the case.
