Fierce fighting between the South Sudan military and a number of armed civilians in Tonj has killed around fourteen (14) people and left several wounded.

A civilian source in the state said that the fight erupted on Friday and continued to Saturday in a place south of Nabagok County when the army tried to disarm civilians.

The fighting started on Friday among the SPLA after they tried to disarm civilians in Nabagok County in a place south of the county,” the civilian supply stated.

“The fighting resulted within the demise of 12 soldiers and two civilians. The preventing has backed however the scenario is unpredictable,” he added.
