Gone are days when Martin Koryom, comically known as Maduool was a household name in South Sudan.
After debuting in South Sudan comedy scene with series of short comedy clips, his fame sky-rocketed and earned himself shows outside South Sudan. It’s been two years but nothing has been heard from the one-time most popular comedian in South Sudan.
Maduool is no longer in the limelight something sources close to the comedian attribute to lack of support.
“Maduool is the pioneer of South Sudan comedy. Before the likes of Ziko and others emerged, Maduool had already made a name but lack of support from the population has contributed to his exit,” said a source with knowledge to the comedian’s woes.
The comedian has recently shared on social media pictures of himself at a road construction site along Juba – Bor road, suggesting he’s now working in the construction industry. It’s not clear whether, that is his new venture or he’s just an employee of a construction company given contract to repair Juba – Bor road.
