A cargo plane charted by WFP crashed today in Malakal shortly after take off from the state’s capital airport.
The plane was chartered by the World Food Programme to deliver humanitarian aid to the needy people in the Upper Nile state.
An eyewitness said the plane landed successfully in Malakal and all the food items were offloaded but shortly after taking-off  the plane crashed into the River Nile.

He said  all the crew member on-board the plane survived though some are in critical condition and are currently under treatment at UNMISS clinic.
