Bump Boys’ Bobby Pin has added his voice to the growing lists of artists who are not happy with the organizers of the South Theatre Academy (STA) Awards.
The “Jealousy” hitmaker who is nominated for 2016 STA Award’s Best Group category posted on his Facebook wall accusing the STA Management of exploiting artists.
“The exploitation of artists is one of the most vicious crimes conceivable, a violation of lesser beings…#STA enough is enough….It’s a very nice initiative, such a platform to promote the hidden talent but Appreciate the work of those u r working with artists”
In a related post, MC Ghetto also accused the organizers of lack of knowledge on what they are doing. He said “all the nominated artists at Sta Kulu awards in dancehall category are Afro dancehall, not dancehall artist. Danson De Chere fix the mess kede.I’m seeing some songs of 2015 being nominated in 2016 for song of the year Malkum yajamana,” before adding that he has got his own reasons for not wanting to be part of the 2016 nomination.
Juba-based singer Emma 47 of Zol Batal Entertainment also weigh in saying, if these things have no income to my music just remove me Sta kulu .
“We are tired of free stuffs atleast do something to benefit your artists”’, Emma said.
South Theatre Academy Awards is an honor given by STA organization annually in Nairobi, Kenya to recognize outstanding achievement mainly in Art industry by the South Sudanese.
