South Sudan’s Benard Agele has made his highly-anticipated return to club football, being unveiled as the latest signing at Uganda Premier League club Express FC.

Agele is one of the few South Sudanese players to compete at the highest level in both Uganda and Kenya, and most recently played for The Saints FC in Uganda. Prior to that he was at KCB in Kenya as well as a number of top clubs in Uganda.

The 24-year-old versatile defender was a member of the Express FC squad that won the Uganda Premier League title in 2012 and he will be looking to repeat that success in his second spell at the club.

Agele also has 5 caps for the South Sudan national team and was a key player in the Bright Stars squad that achieved strong results in the 2015 CECAFA Cup. It is likely he will be called up again for the national team in the upcoming CECAFA Cup and AFCON qualifiers.
