A bridegroom named as David Jiet Chawul, died on Monday evening, two days after his wedding on Saturday 10th, Aug, 2019.

It is not clear why he committed suicide since no suicide note was found. Sources close to the deceased say that David was a happy man and they are surprised why he took his own life.

“We don’t know why David would do such a thing. He seemed happy,” a source close to Davide posted on social media.

Mr. David Jiet from Agaar community of Rumbek, a biological brother of Gen. Saed Chawul the former Inspector General of Police, wedded Becky Ekun from Yirol on Saturday in freedom Hall in Juba.

The family describes the incident as “unfortunate and untimely”.
