After Hiphop artist Mijok Lang better known for his stage name Hot Dogg apparently hanged his mic for what seems to be greener pastures in the politics, another popular musician has ditched music industry for politics.
Yezee Giel a Nairobi based rapper who founded a youth organisation, South Sudan Youth for Peace (SSYP) has declared his allegiance to the newly formed political party, The People’s Liberal Party.
Sources in rapper’s camp say Giel will be appointed into party’s executive soon. Its not clear which position in the party he is going to hold.
Yezee Giel is known for his collaborations with Lam Tungwar. He was a close associate to Emmanuel until a recent fallout where he criticised Jal for taking sides in the country’s conflict. The rapper last year accused Jal of being selfish for signing only his sister to his UK based record label, Gatwich Records.
Giel is popular for song ‘Gom’ with his SSYP crew released in 2014 at the onset on the conflict. The song preaches unity amongst South Sudanese people.
