After appointment of Lam Tungwar as minister of youth for Unity State early this year yet another former musician has been appointed a state minister for youth, sports and culture in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state.

Garang Malong Awan formerly known as Rang Man was a member of Coozos Clan in early 2000s. The singer later left Coozos Clan and formed another group called Panda Family together with Lil J of Coozos and rapper Ma2x.

Garang who is a son of SPLA chief of general staff has authored a book “The Theatre of Hope” in 2012. He was appointed Thursday as youth, sports and culture minister in Northern Bahr el Ghazal following cabinet’s reshuffle by the new state caretaker governor who is an ally to SPLA chief Gen. Malong Awan, Garang’s father.
