South Sudan’s first ever dance competition, Alabu Dance is set to return for a second season this week. The competition which gives youth an opportunity to showcase their dance skills and get awarded prize money was started last year by singer MC Lumoex.
According to the singer, this year’s competition is going to be bigger and better given the huge number of talented dancers who showed up at the auditions last week.
The competition will run for 4 weeks when the final 3 winners will be declared on 7th December by the judges. The opening gala is slated for Thursday, 16th at Nyakuron Cultural Centre’s Cinema Hall.
This year, 12 of the 16 dance crews who auditioned will battle it out for the top prize after 4 crews were disqualified.
Last year SSD Dancers were the winners scooping the 20,000 SSP prize, Soul Crew Dancers and White Moon Dancers became second and third respectively.
