15 children have died in Kapeota East County after health worker used a single syringe to vaccinate hundreds of children in the County against the measles outbreak in the country, The Minister of Health, Riek Gai Kok told press in Juba today.

The grave mistake was made by two teens of 12 and 13 years-old who were part of the vaccination team in the county.

The Minister while speaking to the press the Minister acknowledges the grave mistake done by the health workers in the state and promised to form a committee to investigate the matter.

Since December 2013 political crisis in the country, the health sector has suffered a shortage of health facilities.

The measles vaccination campaign in the country is targeting 2.3 million children.
