We’ve put together 10 bizarre hangover cures that will ease your pounding head and stop that constant feeling of nausea.

1. Pickle juice

This hangover cure might be a bit hard to handle, but if you can stomach it it’s worth it.

A sip from a jar of Christmas pickles could restore levels of electrolytes, due to the high salt and vinegar content.

This means you will be left feeling hydrated, but possible a bit nauseous.

2. Sex

Now this one might be a little more pleasurable even on a hangover.

Sex can instantly cure pain, meaning your headache could miraculously vanish after a romp in the sack.

Scientists at the University of Munster in Germany, found that 60% of migraine patients and 36% of men and women with cluster headaches had an improvement in symptoms when they had sex.

It’s thought that nookie helps our bodies release endorphins and the feel-good hormone oxytocin which act as painkillers. A gentle workout will help you sweat out toxins too.

3. Beer

Everyone’s heard of “hair of the dog” – but does it really work?

Well, in Denmark they call it a “Reparationsbajer” (repair beer) because it makes you feel better after a night on the town.

And some scientists have discovered that a small alcoholic drink can in fact help the body remove toxic by-products from the night before.

However, this will only delay your hangover it won’t cure it.

4. Raw eggs

For this “miracle cure” simply mix a raw egg yolk with Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper.

Next you must swallow the gloopy mixture whole, taking care not to break the egg.

If you can hold it down it will repair your body in no time.

5. Coffee

A shot of expresso might go down a tad better than a raw egg and Italians believe it’s the perfect way to combat a hangover.

Their thinking relies on the fact that coffee dilates blood vessels in the brain, which could make headaches disappear.

6. Smart carbs

Eat smart carbs such as bananas and potatoes. These inject badly-need vitamins and antioxidants into your system and relieve hangover symptoms.

7. Fizzy pop

Do you ever wake up craving a fizzy drink after a big night out? well, there’s science behind it.

Chinese researchers recently claimed that Sprite helped drinkers’ bodies process alcohol more efficiently.

The booze analysts examined the effects of 57 drinks and found that the lemon and lime fizz was the best at beating the morning after blues.

Sprite is said to boost the body’s ability to remove a chemical called acetaldehyde, which which is produced when alcohol is broken down and causes many of the symptoms of a hangover.

Coca-Cola may also work as it replenishes your bodies sugar levels while hydrating you.
8. Vitamin tablets

Take a multivitamin after a night of drinking as it helps replenish nutrients and processes the toxins in alcohol.

9. Tropical juice

Blend up a tropical hangover cure by mixing up super-hydrating coconut water, energy-boosting apple juice, kiwi and a touch of honey. You’ll feel human again in no time.

10. Lemon

You might think a lemony drink will banish your morning-after blues, but the Puerto Ricans have a much more unusual use for the zesty fruit.

They reportedly believe that rubbing a lemon into your armpit whilst drinking could prevent a hangover.
