Salva-Kiir

President Salva Kiir on Wednesday night issued two decrees appointing a new head of the country’s anti-corruption commission and removing the deputy chairperson of the commission.

According to the decree broadcast by the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), Kiir appointed Ngor Kulong Ngor as the new chairman of the ant-corruption corruption.

Kiir also removed John Saverio from his position as the deputy chairperson of the anti-corruption commission and replaced him with Rev. Samuel Jok Bany Mading. No reason was given for the removal of Saverio.

The new anti-corruption chief had served as minister of labour from 2013 to 2016.
