Kuajok Boys’ Secondary School Basketball team has reached the semi-finals unbeaten as the first team to qualify after a third consecutive wins in the ongoing East African Secondary School games in Gulu.

The basketball boys’ team went through after overcoming their Ugandan counterparts with 76 to 50 points.

Mr. William Deng, head coach, says they have achieved beyond their expectations in the games.

“We came here as underdogs, but we have beaten all the odds,” Mr Deng told Eye Radio in Gulu Wednesday.

“We never thought we could go this far but I have to thank the boys and the supporters who came all out and were behind us.”

He added that the efforts of boys must be concluded by winning the trophy in order to bring happiness on the faces of South Sudanese.

The team is sitting on the top of their group, followed by the host team Uganda, Burundi, Kenya and Rwanda.

The South Sudan side will play there last game of the group stages on Thursday against Upper Hill of Kenya.
