A deaf man in Amadi state has killed two armed men after they raided his home with the intent to loot his property.

Amadi State police commissioner Brig. Isaac Chuol, confirmed the incident, saying the deaf man hit the first soldier with a stick, then disarmed the second one and shot him.

Brig. Chuol said the deaf man sustained bullet wounds and later reported to the army headquarters.

Amadi State’s finance minister, Victor Mobruk, says cases of looting are all too common in Amadi state and that the deaf man acted in self-defense.
